Homestyle Lentil Soup

  1. Place all ingredients in pot. Bring to boil. Turn down heat medium low and cook at a slow simmer for 45 minutes to an hour. Discard cinnamon stick, garlic and bay leaf.
  2. Add salt to taste and 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar.
  3. Enjoy this soup with crusty bread, feta cheese and extra vinegar for those who want it. Some folks like the feta in their soup, others on the side. There are no rules.
