Ham And Broccoli Casserole

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions; do not overcook.
  2. Wash broccoli; cut into bite-size pieces and cook, uncovered in boiling salted water for 5 minutes.
  3. Drain.
  4. Make cheese sauce by combining milk, cornstarch, 1/2 stick margarine, salt and pepper in saucepan.
  5. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, with a wire whisk.
  6. When mixture thickens, add cheese, mayonnaise and onions and blend until the cheese is melted. Remove from heat; add macaroni, broccoli and ham.
  7. Pour mixture into casserole dish.
  8. Melt remaining 1/2 stick margarine; add to cracker crumbs and stir until moistened.
  9. Spoon crumbs over top of casserole.
  10. Bake for 20 minutes at 350u0b0.
  11. Freezes well!
