Salted Carmel Glazed Chocolate Scones

  1. To make scones:
  2. - Preheat to 425 F
  3. - in a bowl combine all dry ingredients and stir I till incorporated
  4. - then add butter cut in small pieces and break it down until there are no chunks of butter left (should look a bit like breadcrumbs)
  5. - add the remaining liquids and work the dough (try not to overwork)
  6. - create scone shapes by making a round flat pie and cutting it into slices (like pizza)
  7. - brush tops with heavy cream for browning
  8. - place on parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 min
  9. Glaze:
  10. Throw everything except heavy cream into a sauce pan and melt whisking frequently.
  11. Bring to a slow boil and reduce the heat and add the heavy cream
  12. Bring to a boil again and let it thicken
  13. Then all that is left to do is to dunk the cooled scones into the glaze...and then enjoy :)
  14. Note: this glaze is sticky and doesn't harden like a typical confectioners sugar glaze.
