Dan'S Salsa Ranchera With Cilantro
- 1 24oz can whole pealed tomatoes (plain canned tomatoes)
- 1/2 bunch cilantro (a good handful)
- 1 Serrano or JalapeAo chili, halved (more if you prefer)
- 1 small can Chopped Green Chilies
- 1 medium white onion, quartered
- 1 Clove Garlic - chopped
- 1/2 tsp sea-salt
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- (Optional) 1 Re-hydrated Chipotle Chile, halved (Chipotle won't add a lot heat, just a deep smoky flavor)
- Combine all ingredients into large bowl to prepare for food processing. Depending upon the size of your processor, you may need to divide and process in batches.
- Chop in food processor for about 30 seconds or until the desired consistency is achieved. If you had to split up and process in batches, recombine the full batch in large bowl and mix by hand.
- Chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Serve with salty tortilla chips.
