Old-Fashioned Dark Fruit Cake(5 Pounds)

  1. Mix fruit, nuts, molasses and fruit juice.
  2. Cream butter and sugar.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  4. Add fruits, then dry ingredients.
  5. Bake in slow oven (300u0b0) with a pan of water on floor of oven.
  6. I use a tube pan for baking and test for doneness after about 1 hour.
  7. This recipe has become a tradition for the past 40 years.
