Chinese Barbecued Spareribs
- 2 strips fresh pork spareribs, cracked for easy eating
- 1 medium chopped onion
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. honey or brown sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. ground mustard
- 1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 crushed, peeled section garlic
- 1/4 c. water
- Layer spareribs in shallow pan; dust with salt and pepper. Bake 30 minutes in
- hot (450u0b0) oven.
- Meantime, in saucepan, stir together onion, tomato sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, honey, salt, pepper, mustard, Tabasco sauce, bay leaf, garlic and water.
- Bring to boil. Pour over ribs.
- Reduce heat to 350u0b0 and bake 1 hour. Baste twice with pan drippings.
- Garnish.
- Cut scallions and/or small pickles.
- Delicious!
