Oatmeal Caramelitas
- 1 c. flour
- 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 3/4 c. caramel ice cream topping
- 1 c. quick cooking oatmeal
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 3/4 c. margarine, melted
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- In large mixer bowl, combine flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, soda, salt and melted margarine.
- Blend well to form crumbs. Press 1/2 of crumbs into the bottom of an 11 x 7-inch pan.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven.
- Sprinkle with chocolate pieces and pecans.
- Blend caramel topping and flour; pour caramel mixture back and forth over chocolate and pecans to cover.
- Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
- Bake 15 to 20 minutes longer or until golden brown.
- Chill 1 to 2 hours.
- Cut into bars.
