Swiss Sausage Casserole
- 3 lb. pork sausage
- 1 1/2 tsp. prepared mustard
- 18 thin slices bread (crust off)
- 3/4 lb. Swiss cheese, sliced
- 7 eggs
- 2 c. milk
- 1 pt. half and half
- 1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- dash of pepper and nutmeg
- Cook sausage until browned.
- Mash with potato masher until fine.
- Drain well.
- Combine mustard with sausage and blend.
- Cut bread slices diagonally.
- Space half of bread in bottom of greased 13 x 9 x 2 1/2-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle sausage over bread.
- Top with cheese slices.
- Space remaining bread slices evenly over cheese.
- Combine remaining ingredients until well blended.
- Pour egg mixture over bread.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 35 to 40 minutes until egg sets.
- Great for a guest brunch!
