Fabulous Ham And Cheese Souffle
- 16 slices white sandwich bread, crust cut off and cubed
- 1 lb. cubed ham, more or less is fine
- 1 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 1/2 c. Swiss cheese, cut in small pieces
- 6 eggs
- 3 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. onion salt
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 3 c. crushed cornflakes
- 1/2 c. margarine, melted
- Grease 9 x 13-inch glass baking dish.
- Spread half of bread cubes evenly in dish.
- Add ham and both cheeses, then cover with remaining bread cubes.
- Mix milk, eggs, onion salt and mustard. Pour evenly over bread cubes and refrigerate overnight.
- Combine cornflakes and margarine for topping.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 40 minutes. Serves 10 but can be halved.
- A good brunch dish.
- Also good with smoked turkey instead of ham.
