Latkes

  1. Preparation steps:
  2. Grate potatoes and onions twice.
  3. Wait 5 minutes and drain some of the liquids.
  4. Microwave on medium heat for 3 minutes. Drain liquids again.
  5. Add flour, eggs, salt and chili powder to mixture.
  6. In a non stick pan, heat 1 Tbsp oil.
  7. Fry 8 latkes at a time for 2 minutes each side.
  8. Mix the ingredients before starting each batch.
  9. Add 1 Tbsp of oil to the pan before each batch.
  10. Serving: With sour cream or apple sauce on the side.

  12. Take note!
  13. Do not double the recipe as the potatoes release liquids while waiting to get fried. A batch that has too much liquids doesn't fry evenly.
