Karen'S Green Pepper Steak
- 2 tablespoons tallow, olive or avocado oil
- 2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1/8-inch X 3-inch strips
- 2 green pepper, sliced
- 4 tomatoes, small quartered
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash pepper
- 2 tablespoons dried onion, minced
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 cups bouillon
- 4 tablespoons cornstarch
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 6 cups boiled rice
- 1. Heat tallow (or oil) in a heavy skillet.
- 2. Add meat, salt, pepper, onion, and garlic - cook over moderately high heat, stirring constantly, until meat has browned.
- 3. Add bouillon and green peppers - cover and cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
- 4. Add tomatoes and cook one minute longer.
- 5. Blend together cornstarch, soy sauce and water - add to skillet and cook 3-4 minutes longer, stirring constantly until mixture is hot and sauce has thickened.
- 6. Serve at once over hot rice.
