Pepper Steak With Cheddar Noodles
- One bag of broad egg noodles
- 1/4 cup margarine or butter
- 1-1/2 pounds top sirloin steak cut into long strips
- 1/2 large onion, cut into strips
- 1-1/2 green peppers cut into strips
- 1 tbsp crushed garlic
- 1 large can (790mL) diced tomatoes with juice
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- Sauce:
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 3 cups cheddar/mozzarella cheese mix
- 1. In a large pot, boil one bag of egg noodles until al dente. Do not drain until remainder of recipe is cooked.
- 2. Melt margarine in a large fry pan or electric fry pan.
- 3. Add the sirloin steak, onion, green peppers, and crushed garlic and cook until meat is browned.
- 4. After meat mixture is browned, add diced tomatoes and beef bouillon cube. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until veggies are tender.
- 5. Add sauce ingredients to mixture and stir till it thickens nicely.
- 6. In a large bowl put cheddar/mozzarella cheese mix. Drain the noodles. and pour the hot noodles into the bowl with the cheese and then pour the meat mixture over. Stir well until the cheese is melted all together with this mix.
- 7. Serve with a side salad and garlic bread.
