Jeera Chicken
- 3 T cumin seeds divided
- 1 T oil
- 1/2 t black peppercorn
- 4 green cardamom pods
- 2 fresh green chillies finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
- 1 inch ginger grated
- 1 t ground coriander
- 2 t ground cumin
- 1/2 t salt
- 8 chicken pieces
- 1 t garam masala
- Fresh cilantro
- Chilli powder
- Serve w cucumber raita
- Dry roast 1 T cumin seeds, set aside
- Hear oil in skillet. Fry remaining CUMIN SEEDS, BLACK PEPPERCORNS, and CARDAMOM for 2-3 min.
- Add CHILLIES, GARLIC, and, GINGER and fry for 2 min
- Add GROUND CORRIANDER, GROUND CUMIN and SALT. Stir well, cook 2 min.
- Add CHICKEN and cook 20-25 min.
- Add GARAM MASALA and reserved toasted CUMIN SEEDS and cook another 5 min. Garnish w fresh cilantro and chili powder.
