Japanese Stir Fry
- 1 pouch boil-in-bag brown rice
- 2 T. Olive Oil
- 8 oz. sirloin steak (can substitute chicken or shrimp)
- 1 sm. onion, chopped
- 1 sm. green or red pepper, chopped
- Up to 1 C. other vegetables to suit (ex. Broccoli, Zucchini Corn, Mushrooms, etc.)
- 2 T. Sesame Seeds
- 1 Lg. egg
- Cook rice as per package directions. When done, drain and set aside.
- While rice is boiling as per package directions, heat 1 T. of olive oil in a large skillet.
- Cube steak into 1 - 2 in. pieces. Add to skillet and cook to desired doneness (3-5 min). Remove from skillet, and place in bowl.
- If needed, add additional oil to skillet. Add onions, peppers, other vegetables, and sesame seeds. Saute until tender.
- Add cooked rice to skillet. Stir to combine ingredients. Add egg - ensuring that it makes contact with the hot skillet - scrambling to cook and combine. Continue stirring until egg is cooked through (1-2 min).
- Add steak back to mixture and stir until heated (about 2 min).
