Old Fashioned Macaroni And Cheese

  1. Butter a 2-quart casserole.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Bring water to a rapid boil in a heavy 4-quart saucepan.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and oil.
  5. Gradually add macaroni, being sure water continues to boil.
  6. Cook macaroni, uncovered, until tender, but firm.
  7. Stir occasionally.
  8. Drain.
  9. Place in prepared casserole.
