Peanut Blossoms

• Sift together:
• 1 3/4 cup flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• Cream together:
• 1/2 cup butter flavored Crisco shortening
• 1/2 cup peanut butter
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
• Add:
• 1 unbeaten egg
• 2 tablespoon milk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• Chocolate candy kisses

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Blend in the dry ingredients gradually; mix thoroughly. Shape by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Roll in sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and place a solid milk chocolate candy kiss on top of each cookie pressing down so that cookie cracks around edge. Return to oven; bake 2 to 5 minutes longer.
