Chocolate Filled Bonbons
- 1/2 c. butter flavor Crisco
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 36 chocolate kisses, unwrapped
- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 2/3 c. unsifted flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 36 pecan halves
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
- Cream Crisco, white sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and egg in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer. Combine flour, baking soda and salt.
- Stir into creamed mixture. Press 2 level measuring teaspoonful dough around each kiss, covering kiss completely.
- Place pecan half on top of each.
- Place on ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake at 400u0b0 for 6 to 7 minutes. (Cookies will not brown.)
- Gently press pecans into hot cookies. Cool on baking sheet 1 minute.
- Remove to cooling racks.
- Makes 3 dozen cookies.
