Fish With Tahini Sauce
- Ingredients
- 6 fish fillets (haddock pref.)
- 3 tablespoons of butter, cut into small pieces
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 6 cloves of garlic, finely minced,
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- 1/2 cup flat leaf parsley, chopped
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Sauce
- 1 1/4 cups tahini
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon of ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- 1/4 cup toasted pine nuts
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the fish in a baking dish and dot the fish all over with butter. Sprinkle with the lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper, cumin and parsley. Bake for 15 minutes or until barely done.
- Saute the sliced onion in 1 tablespoon of olive oil until translucent and set aside.
- In a saucepan, stir together the sauce ingredients and simmer over low heat, about 10 minutes. Adjust the seasonings and add a little water for a creamy consistency
- Remove the baking dish from the oven. Spread the onion slices over the fish, and then pour the tahini sauce over this. Bake at 350 degrees for another 20-30 minutes. Top with pine nuts and serves with garnishes of lemon wedges.
