Grilled Steak Salad

  1. Marinate steak in ziplock bag with i clove garlic mixed with 1/4 c olive oil, 1/4 c vinegar and salt and pepper for one hour. Marinate mushrooms in same mixture but in seperate bag. Heat grill to high. Cut red pepper in half, seed and roast on hot grill skin side down until blackened. When done throw in paper bag and let steam in bag for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile slice onion and sautee in 1 tbsp. butter till translucent. Set aside. Put mushrooms and steak on the grill. Cook steak to medium rare and mushrooms till tender. Remove steak & mushrooms from grill and put on plate and cover tightly with aluminum foil and set aside. To assemble place greens in a large bowl add sliced tomatoes in a circular pattern. Place slices of mozerella on top and a little chopped basil on each. Slice steak thin. Slice mushrooms thin. Layer slices on top of tomatoes and scatter onions. Pour over the salad the juiced from the mushrooms and steak. Mix in cup remaining oil and vinegar . Add salt and pepper to dressing. Drizzle over salad. Enjoy !
