Grandma Ruehle'S Christmas Cookies
- 2 Cups white sugar
- 1 lb butter
- 3 eggs
- 7 1/2 cups flour
- 7 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup (optional)
- Frosting:
- 3 cups confectioner sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1-2 T milk
- 1 stick butter softened
- Beat sugar and butter together. Add eggs, vanilla, and milk.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add dry ingredients to sugar mixture gradually beating after each cup.
- Make a ball and refrigerate for 24 hrs covering with a wet cloth. Roll out on floured surface to make cut out cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for 9-10 minutes.
- Frost and decorate
