Southwestern Lasagne
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 4 Tbsp. minced onions
- 2 cloves pressed garlic
- 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
- 3 c. water
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 2 (8 oz.) pkg. lasagne noodles
- 1 1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 lb. Monterey Jack cheese
- 2 c. (7 oz.) whole green chilies
- Brown beef in oil with onions and garlic.
- Add tomato paste, water, salt, sugar and oregano; simmer for 15 minutes.
- Cook noodles as directed.
- Grate cheese.
- Remove seeds from chilies. Layer noodles, sauce, cheeses and green chilies into a 10 x 15-inch pan.
- This makes 3 layers.
- Bake for 30 minutes at 350u0b0.
- Let set 10 minutes before serving.
- Serves 8.
