Quick Cheese And Vegetable Strata
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- Pinch of Rosemary
- Pinch of Ground Thyme
- Pinch of Nutmeg
- 1 garlic clove
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 long sandwich roll cubed (or piece of white bread cubed)
- Good brown mustard (Koscuisko Spicy Brown recommended)
- 1/4 cup Parmesan Reggiano cheese
- 1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped frozen greens (spinach or collard greens)
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- In small bowl whisk together milk, egg, rosemary, thyme, nutmeg, garlic, salt and pepper.
- Cut bread into small cubes about 1/4 inch. Spread mustard on cubes and add to egg mixture. Let bread absorb egg mixture completely. This may take a few minutes.
- Once bread absorbs egg, add cheeses and greens to mixture. Then pour in lightly buttered (4x4) baking dish.
- Bake until knife inserted comes out clean, and golden crust rises. (25-30 minutes)
