Ahi Tuna With Avacado Blueberry Salsa
- Four - 6 ounce Ahi Tuna steaks
- For Avocado Blueberry Salsa:
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 medium tomato
- 1/4 cup of onion
- 1/2 cup of blueberries
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of capers, drained
- 2 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 of a lemon, juiced
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
- Make Salsa:
- Coarsely chop the avocado, tomato, and onion, toss into a large mixing bowl. Add the garlic, capers, blueberries, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Lightly stir, making sure not to smash the avocado.
- Sear Tuna Steaks:
- Salt and Pepper the tuna to taste. Pre heat grill to 450 degrees, or large skillet on medium high heat with about a 1/2 a tablespoon of olive oil. Sear the tuna steaks on both sides for 3-4 minutes a side for rare temperature.
- Top with salsa.
