Sheperds Pie

  1. FOR MINCED MEAT
  2. Fry onions until golden brown
  3. Add diced tomatoes and stir until brown-ish (for around 10mins)
  4. Add minced beef and salt to taste
  5. Add dried oregano (1 teaspoon), Spanish paprika (4 teaspoons), add garlic (1 table spoon)
  6. Cover and let it cook on slow heat for 30 -45 minutes until beef is cooked and is dry (keep stirring occasionally until the meat is brown/cooked and a thin layer of oil appears over the meat.)
  7. MASHED POTATOES
  8. Take 10 potatoes peeled, boil and mash
  9. Add salt, pepper, milk (around 3/4 cup) and 2 cups grated cheddar cheese and stir into the mashed potatoes.
  10. In a baking try add the minced meat and add a layer of the mashed potatoes on top and bake for around 20mins on high heat until it browns on the top.
  11. (Optional - add some cheese to the top before baking)
