Sheperds Pie
- Minced meat
- 3/4 kilo minced beef
- 3 Tomatoes (diced)
- 1 large Onion (diced)
- 4 tsp Spanish paprika
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 200 grm can of tomato paste
- Salt to taste
- 10 peeled potatoes
- 2 cups cheddar cheese (grated)
- 3/4 cup milk
- FOR MINCED MEAT
- Fry onions until golden brown
- Add diced tomatoes and stir until brown-ish (for around 10mins)
- Add minced beef and salt to taste
- Add dried oregano (1 teaspoon), Spanish paprika (4 teaspoons), add garlic (1 table spoon)
- Cover and let it cook on slow heat for 30 -45 minutes until beef is cooked and is dry (keep stirring occasionally until the meat is brown/cooked and a thin layer of oil appears over the meat.)
- MASHED POTATOES
- Take 10 potatoes peeled, boil and mash
- Add salt, pepper, milk (around 3/4 cup) and 2 cups grated cheddar cheese and stir into the mashed potatoes.
- In a baking try add the minced meat and add a layer of the mashed potatoes on top and bake for around 20mins on high heat until it browns on the top.
- (Optional - add some cheese to the top before baking)
