Berries, Blue And Balsamic Salad
- 1 lb. washed and dried, mixed mesclun greens
- 1 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, rinsed and sliced
- 1 cup slivered almonds
- 1/2 cup Maytag Blue Cheese, crumbled
- For the viniagrette:
- 3 T olive oil
- 6T balsamic vinegar
- 1-2T fresh maple syrup
- 1t garlic powder
- 1/2 kosher salt
- Rinse and dry greens and place in a bowl.
- In a flat pan toast slivered almonds until they are slightly browned, then add them to the greens
- Crumble the blue cheese into the bowl with greens and almonds and add the sliced strawberries.
- In a separate jar combine and blend the oil, vinegar, maple syrup, garlic powder and salt.
- Pour emulsion over the salad Toss thoroughly and serve.
- Serve with fresh toasted baguette.
