Phoney Filets

  1. 1. Prepare the stuffing mix according to the package instructions. Set aside.
  2. 2. Beat the egg in a mixing bowl. Add the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce and sliced olives to the egg. Mix the ingredients until the combination is smooth and easy to shape into patties.
  3. 3. Divide the mixture into 10 equal portions. Form each portion into a 1-inch thick patty.
  4. 4. Trim the bacon slices to match the 1-inch height of the patty-fillets.
  5. 5. Wrap each fillet with bacon and secure the ends of the bacon with a toothpick. If necessary use one and a half pieces of bacon on each fillet.
  6. 6. Preheat the barbecue on high for 10 minutes. Turn the heat to medium-high. Oil the grate.
  7. 7. Place the fillets on the grate. Close the lid. Grill the fillets for 6 or 7 minutes on each side or until thoroughly cooked.
  8. 8. For richer flavour top the fillets with crumbled blue cheese during the last few minutes of cooking.
