Salisbury Steak
- 1 lb of ground lean beef
- 1 medium onion - chopped and caramelized
- 1 can of cream of mushroom condensed soup
- 1-2 garlic cloves minced
- 1/2 box of fresh mushrooms sliced
- 1-2 cups of Beef Stock or "Better than Bullion"
- 1/2 cup Italian Bread Crumbs
- Dash of Worcestershire Sauce(optional)
- 1 tablespoon of vinegar
- 4 tablespoons of corn oil
- 1) In pan with oil - Partially caramelize the onions and start to brown the mushrooms. Add garlic at last minute and remove from pan.
- 2) Combine meat, breadcrumbs, quarter of onion/mushroom/garlic mix, 1 spoonful of cream of mushroom condensed soup and Worcester sauce (optional). Form into 4 patties.
- 3) Brown 4 patties on both sides. Remove from pan.
- 4) Deglaze pan with 1 tablespoon of vinegar
- 5) Return onion/mushroom/garlic to pan. Add cream of mushroom soup and beef stock. Stir.
- 6) Return beef patties to sauce. Cover and let cook through.
