Baked Beans
- 1/2 lb Pepper Bacon, chopped
- 1 Large yellow Onion, diced
- 1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
- 1 1/2 oz. Cider Vinegar
- 1 1/2 oz Jack Daniels
- 1 lb Ground Chuck
- 55 oz B&M baked beans
- 1 envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup Ketchup
- 2 Tbs Yellow Mustard
- Preheat oven to 400.
- In a large dutch oven fry the bacon over medium low heat until it's crisp and most of the fat is rendered. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside. Fry the onion over medium heat in the bacon grease until golden. Remove the onion and put it in a small saucepan with the vinegar, Jack Daniels, and brown sugar, bring to a boil, and stir until the sugar is melted. Remove from heat. Meanwhile, brown the ground chuck in the dutch oven until no longer pink. Now stir in the onion mixture, bacon, and the rest of the ingredients.
- Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
- This should freeze well, but I've never had any leftovers so can't say for sure.
