Melissa Depena'S Potato Chip Walnut Cookie
- 5 sticks of Land O Lakes Butter (1lb and 1 stick)
- 1 1/4 cup of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla
- 4 cups of Gold Medal Flour
- 2/3 cups of chopped walnuts. Melissa doubles this and rolls the chopped nuts with a rolling pin. She thinks the cookie taste better with more nuts.
- 2 cups of Herrs Blue Bag Chips. Use rolling pin to crush and then remeasure to be sure there are 2 cups of crushed chips.
- In a large bowl cream, BUTTER, SUGAR, VANILLA AND NUTS slowly. Add FLOUR A CUP AT A TIME. Make sure it is mixed very well before adding the next cup of flour.
- Use a spoon to add the chips into the mixture. Do half the batter at a time to make sure the chips are throughout the whole batter.
- Scoop with a tablespoon on ungreased pan.
- Use thumb to press each cookie. Add colored sugar.
- Bake at 350. Calls for 15-17 minutes. Check after 10 minutes. Top should be beige and light brown around the edges. Melissa's cookies cook between 12-15 minutes. Clean tray in between batches. Let cool on pan for a few minutes before removing to wire rack.
