Mary'S Fresh Fruit Salad

  1. Make sure that all fruit is completely ripe but not over ripe. Remove grapes from the stem and wash good; dry with paper towels; put into baggies and refrigerate.
  2. Cut the honeydew melon and remove seeds.
  3. Cut into 1 1/2 inch slices, remove rind making sure you get anything that is not tender and sweet; then cut into bite size pieces.
  4. Put into baggies and refrigerate.
  5. Do the same with the cantaloupe.
  6. Squeeze lemon juice into water in a small bowl. Peel, core and cut apples into large bite size pieces, dip them into the lemon water as you work.
  7. (This will keep them from turning brown.)
  8. Dry on paper towels, put into baggies and refrigerate.
  9. Do the same with the peaches or nectarines.
  10. Cut watermelon and remove the heart of it, cutting into large bite size pieces.
  11. Make sure that you do not get any seed in with what goes into the salad.
  12. Put into baggie and refrigerate.
  13. Wash and dry strawberries very carefully.
  14. Make sure they are completely dry before putting into baggies with a paper towel in with them and refrigerating.
  15. This can all be done a day ahead of time.
