Mary'S Fresh Fruit Salad
- 1 pkg. white seedless grapes
- 1 pkg. red seedless grapes
- 1 watermelon
- 1 honeydew melon
- 1 cantaloupe
- 3 or 4 peaches or nectarines
- 2 qt. strawberries
- 2 or 3 Kiwi
- 1 lemon
- 1 1/2 cup water
- Make sure that all fruit is completely ripe but not over ripe. Remove grapes from the stem and wash good; dry with paper towels; put into baggies and refrigerate.
- Cut the honeydew melon and remove seeds.
- Cut into 1 1/2 inch slices, remove rind making sure you get anything that is not tender and sweet; then cut into bite size pieces.
- Put into baggies and refrigerate.
- Do the same with the cantaloupe.
- Squeeze lemon juice into water in a small bowl. Peel, core and cut apples into large bite size pieces, dip them into the lemon water as you work.
- (This will keep them from turning brown.)
- Dry on paper towels, put into baggies and refrigerate.
- Do the same with the peaches or nectarines.
- Cut watermelon and remove the heart of it, cutting into large bite size pieces.
- Make sure that you do not get any seed in with what goes into the salad.
- Put into baggie and refrigerate.
- Wash and dry strawberries very carefully.
- Make sure they are completely dry before putting into baggies with a paper towel in with them and refrigerating.
- This can all be done a day ahead of time.
