Chocolate Angel Food Cake
- 1 cup of cake flour
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1/2 cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups of egg whites
- 1 teaspoon of water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup of chocolate morsels
- preheat oven to 400 degrees F
- sift the flour, 1 cup of sugar and cocoa in bowl and mix together
- combine egg whites, water and salt in a bowl and beat with a mixer until frothy
- beat in cream of tartar intil stiff and mix in remaining sugar and vanilla
- fold in flour mixture
- pour into tube pan reduce oven temp to 375 bake for 10 min.
- reduce again to 300 degrees and bake for 35 minutes.
- let cake cool for 40 minutes upside down.
- for chocolate glaze, bring cream to a boil, add chocolate chips and stir tull melted, drizzle over cake
