Sherried Spareribs
- 3 lb. pork spareribs
- 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. catsup
- 1 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/8 tsp. red pepper
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 1/2 c. cooking sherry
- 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 Tbsp. white wine vinegar
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- Place ribs on a lightly greased rack in a shallow roasting pan.
- Bake, uncovered, at 425u0b0 for 30 minutes.
- In a medium saucepan, saute onion in oil.
- Combine remaining ingredients and add to sauteed onion.
- Bring to a boil, stirring well.
- Place roasting pan 7 to 8-inches from heating element.
- Broil ribs 15 minutes, turning every 5 minutes.
- Baste liberally with sauce. Serve remaining sauce with spareribs.
