Pizza Margherita

  1. Brush the dough or crust with a little olive oil to the edge. Spread tomato sauce over the dough to within 1/2-inch of the edge. Distribute Mozzarella slices over the tomato sauce and season with pepper.
  2. Arrange basil leaves over the Mozzarella, reserving a few garnish if you wish.
  3. Sprinkle with Parmesan.
  4. Drizzle with the remaining olive oil.
  5. Carefully slide the pizza in the oven and bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until the bottom if crisp and browned and the top is bubbling.
  6. Garnish with the reserved basil leaves, if desired.
  7. Yield:
  8. one 12-inch pizza.
