Egg Sesame Bread

  1. Soften yeast in warm water.
  2. Put milk, butter, sugar, and salt into pan - scald milk.
  3. Cool to lukewarm. Pour in bowl.
  4. Add 2 cups flour to milk & mix.
  5. Add yeast & water, eggs, food coloring, and mix.
  6. Add the remainder of the flour a little at a time
  7. Knead dough and let rise. Punch down and divide into 6 pieces. Shape each into a strip.
  8. Braid 3 strips into a loaf and tuck ends under. Repeat with remaining 3 strips.
  9. Place onto cookie sheet and let rise.
  10. Then brush each loaf with the egg white & sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  11. Bake at 350-375 for about 30 minutes.
  12. Tip: you can tell when bread is done by either inserting a toothpick or tapping crust with fingernail. Don't put loaves on same pan - use two that will fit into your oven. Otherwise they will glom together and not be pretty.
