Tarheel Apple Pie
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese (room temperature)
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. French vanilla pudding mix
- 5 to 6 medium tart apples, peeled and sliced
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 unbaked 9-inch bottom crust
- 1 unbaked top crust
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- Put
- cream
- cheese,
- sugar
- and
- pudding
- mix in 2 quart mixing
- bowl.
- Mixthoroughly
- until smooth, set aside.
- Place apples
- intnother
- bowl and pour freshly squeezed lemon juice over slices.
- Mix
- well
- and
- set aside to stand for a few minutes.
- Mix
- together 2 tablespoons flour and sugar and sprinkle evenly in
- bottom
- of
- crust.
- Arrange half the apple slices in pie crust.teasure 1/3 cup sugar and sprinkle 2 tablespoons of it over apple slices.tpreadtver

- the cheese mixture.
- Arrange
- remaining slices over the mixture and sprinkle with the
- remainder
- of
- the
- 1/3tup
- sugar.
- Spread evenly the rest ofthe cheese mixture.
- Put on top crust.tot with butter.
- Bake 40 to 60 minutes at 350u0b0.
- Cool and serve.
