Smothered Cabbage Wedges

  1. In Dutch oven or large skillet, cook cabbage wedges in small amount of boiling salted water until tender (about 12 minutes). Drain.
  2. Place wedges in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
  3. In saucepan, cook pepper and onion in butter until tender but not brown.
  4. Blend in flour, salt and pepper.
  5. Add milk all at once, cook and stir until mixture thickens.
  6. Pour over cabbage.
  7. Bake, uncovered, at 375u0b0 for 20 minutes.
  8. Combine mayonnaise, cheese and chili sauce. Spoon on wedges and bake 5 minutes more.
