Al'S Wondermous Chili
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 celery stalk, chopped
- 4 to 5 minced garlic cloves
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomatoes, chopped
- 1 (10 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 small can green chilies, drained
- 2 tsp. cumin
- 4 heaping Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 2 to 3 bay leaves
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans
- Brown ground beef, drain.
- Add the onion, celery and garlic to the meat; cook until the onion and celery are tender.
- Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, chilies, cumin, chili powder, oregano, bay leaves, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt and enough of the 2 tablespoons of brown sugar to desired sweetness.
- Bring to a boil.
- Add kidney beans, reduce heat and simmer on low for 1 1/2 hours.
