Pasta With Spicy Tomato & Sausage

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Oil 9" x 13" baking dish. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over bottom of pan, set aside.
  3. Cook pasta, set aside.
  4. Meanwhile, in separate sauce pan, cook sausage over medium high heat until no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add onion and saute, 5 minutes.
  6. Add marinara, reduce heat to medium, simmer 10 minutes.
  7. Stir in pesto, and salt and pepper to taste.
  8. In a large bowl, combine pasta with sauce, and remaining ingredients, reserve 2/3 cup of parmesan cheese. Mix well.
  9. Spoon mixture into pan and sprinkle with 2/3 cups parmesan. (can be made up to 2 days ahead).
  10. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
