Old-Fashioned Blackberry Cobbler
- 3 c. berries
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 stick margarine
- 4 c. water
- 2 pie pastry crusts
- 1 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 stick margarine
- any fresh or canned fruit
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. milk
- 1 large can sliced peaches with juice (2 1/2 c.)
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
- Place stick of butter in a 9 x 13-inch flat pan and place in oven to melt.
- In the meantime, mix together the dry ingredients.
- Stir in milk, beating until smooth.
- Remove baking pan from oven and pour in batter.
- Spoon fruit and juice evenly over the batter.
- Return to oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until top is lightly browned.
- Serve hot or cold with whipped cream.
