Sweet And Sour Pork(Crock-Pot)
- 1 1/2 lb. boneless pork, cut into 2-inch strips
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 green pepper, cut into strips
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 4 Tbsp. instant dry milk
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (15 1/2 oz.) can pineapple tidbits, drained (reserve syrup)
- 1/3 c. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Sprinkle pork pieces with paprika.
- Heat shortening in skillet.
- Saute pork and discard fat.
- Place meat in crock-pot. Add onion and pepper.
- Combine the next 4 ingredients in bowl, then add vinegar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and 2/3 cup pineapple liquid.
- (If juice does not make this much, add water.) Pour entire mixture into crock-pot.
- Cook on low 8 to 9 hours, or on high 4 to 5 hours.
- During last 1 to 2 hours, add pineapple. Serves 4 to 6.
