Nonna D'S Almond Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 deg. F
  2. Beat eggs and sugar with mixer for 10-15 minutes. Gradually add shortening and continue to beat until well mixed. Add next 4 ingredients, continuing to beat by hand. If dough is too soft, add more flour. Allow dough to stand 30 minutes before assembly.
  3. Take 1 tsp dough and roll into ball. Roll in water then roll in sugar and then roll agin in crushed almonds.
  4. Place rolled dough onto baking sheet that has been oiled and floured (or use parchment paper). Repeat for remaining dough.
  5. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
