Chocolate Drop Cookies
- Cookie:
- Melted chocolate and butter
- 1 C. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 C. flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1/2 C. milk
- 1/2 C. pecans, chopped
- Frosting:
- 1 C. white sugar
- 1 square chocolate
- 1/4 C. butter, softened
- 1/3 C. milk
- 1 tsp. Karo syrup
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla, added last
- Mix chocolate and butter mixture with eggs, milk and vanilla. In another bowl add dry ingredients: flour, soda, salt. Alternate dry ingredients with milk, eggs and chocolate mixture and nuts. Grease a cookie sheet. Drop on cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees about 10 min. or until done. Frost while still warm.
- Frosting:
- Mix all ingredients well and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 min.
- add vanilla and beat until cool. Spread over cookies while still warm. Place on racks until cool before stacking.
