Beef Bbq Sandwiches
- 6 lbs beef chuck roast, cut into 2 inch cubes
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 3 large onions, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 14-oz bottle ketchup
- 2 T salt
- 3 T bbq sauce
- 3 T vinegar
- 1 t hot sauce
- 1 1/2 c water
- 2 T chili powder
- 1 t ground black pepper
- 24-30 hamburger buns
- Combine all ingredients (except for buns) in a large oven-proof pan. Cover with lid or foil and bake at 300F for 6 hours.
- BBQ will be dark and beef will be falling apart.
- Skim fat from surface. If made ahead, refrigerate and remove solidified fat before reheating.
- Beef should break apart when stirred. If not, shred with two forks.
- Make sandwiches using warm beef bbq (either just made or reheated), wrap in foil and tailgate away!
