Chocolate Almond Meringue Cookies

  1. Beat egg whites with vinegar and salt until stiff.
  2. Add sugar gradually, beating until meringue stands in stiff peaks.
  3. Fold in flavorings, nuts and chopped chocolate.
  4. Drop from teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake in very slow (250u0b0) oven for about 30 minutes, or until firm to touch.
  6. Cool before removing from cookie sheet.
  7. While cookies bake, combine the 1 square chocolate and water in top of double boiler.
  8. Place over hot water and heat until chocolate is melted.
  9. Stir to blend.
  10. Drizzle over cookies when removed from oven.
  11. Yield:
  12. About 5 dozen cookies.
