Baked Cauliflower With Ham
- 1 head cauliflower, broken into florets and par boiled and cooled
- 2 tbs butter
- 3 tbs dry bread crumbs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup grated swiss (fondue mix works well)
- 2 tbs flour
- 2 eggs separated
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup (or more) minced ham
- Butter a baking dish (9 x 12) with 1 tbs butter and coat with bread crumbs
- Blend sour cream, flour, cheese, egg yolks and season with salt
- Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt to stiff peaks and fold into the sour cream mixture
- Spread some sauce on bottom of pan, layer 1/2 cauliflower, layer ham, layer rest of the cauliflower and then the rest of the sauce. Sprinle with bread crumbs and dot 9liberally ) with butter.
- Bake at 300 for 30 min or until top is browned and bubbly.
- I prefer to let it set a bit before serving.
