Foundant
- 1 tbspoon+ 2 tspoon unflavoured gelatin
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup liquid glucose
- 1 tbspoon glycerin
- 2 tbspoon solid shortening
- 1 tspoon any flavour (if you want)
- about 7-8 cups of powdered (confectioners) sugar
- wooden spoon & bowel
- 1- add gelatin to cold water and stir it till it dissolve, stand 2 minutes till it become thick.
- 2- put in on the top of double boiler (water bath) and make sure water is boiling first. let it dissolve.
- 3- add glucose & stir.
- 4- add shortening & remove from boiler before shortening dissolve. stir outside till it dissolve.
- 5- add glycerin
- 6- add the flavouring (if u want)
- 7- let it cool till lukewarm
- 8- in a bowel put 6 cups of sugar and make a wheel in the middle, pour the mixute and mix with spoon first and then use hands.
- 9- you can place it on a sugar powdered surface and knead till it become soft and non sticky
- 10- for me this reciepe took exactly 6.5 cups of sugar, but it will depend on the sugar brand, if you feel it is still sticky and needs more sugar continue adding and it become soomth & firm.
- 11- use wilton colors to color your dough, knead it to 1/2 inch thick, and shape.
