Barbara'S Beautiful Brownies
- cookie layer
- 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
- 1/2 c. butter (or margerine)
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 sifted all purpose flour
- 1/2 chopped pecans optional
- Filling
- 4 T soft butter
- 2 c.Confectioner's 10x sugar
- 3 T heavy cream
- 1/2 t vanilla
- Glaze
- 3 squares unsweetend chocolate
- 3T butter
- Cookie layer:Heat oven to 350 Melt chocolate, butter together, cool slightly.
- In medium bowl beat eggs until frothy. Stir in Chocolate mixture and sugar. Add flour(optional pecans) stirring until well blended.
- Turn into greased 14or16x8x2 pan. Bake 20 minutes . Cool thoroughly on wire rack.
- Filling: In small bowl blend all ingrediants. Spread over cookie layer. Chill for at least 10 minutes
- Glaze:
- Melt chocolate and butter together. Pour over filling, tilting pan so glaze will pour evenly.(do not spread it)
- Refrigerate 15 or more minutes to harden glaze. With sharp knife cut into 24 rectangular sticks for a party of square for dessert.
- This freezes beautifully.
- Can be cut in half for small
- 8x8 pan.
