Sweet Crispix (Or Chex) Party Mix

• 12oz box or 6 cups of cereal.
• 2 cups of mixed nuts
• 1 cup brown sugar ( I have another recipe that says 1 1/2c.)
• 1 1/2 sticks of butter (3/4 cup)
• 1/3 cup light corn syrup
• 1/4 tsp baking soda

1. mix cereal and nuts together in large bowl. set aside.
2. melt butter, sugar and corn syrup in sauce pan over medium heat, boil 1 minute stirring constantly. remove from heat and stir in baking soda. stir 1 minute. (it will be foamy.). quickly pour mixture over cereal and nuts and stir until well combined.
3. You can now use the oven or microwave.
4. Microwave: your cereal mixture must be in a microwave safe bowl. Cook on high for 1 minute; stir and repeat 4 more times.
5. Oven: put cereal mixture on cookie sheets covered with parchment paper. bake at 250 F for 15 min. Stir and bake another 15min.
6. For Both methods: after baking or microwaving, spread the mixture out on the counter, covered with wax paper (or parchment paper )that has been sprayed with Pam. Let cool then break into pieces.
