Banana Bread
- WET INGREDIENTS
- 2-3 very ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) softened butter or margarine
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- DRY INGREDIENTS
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside. In a blender, combine wet ingredients, blend on puree until mixture is well blended.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix well.
- Pour mixture into a well greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes-time is approximate and may vary with size of pan or type of oven.
- Check with toothpick or knife in center of loaf-if it comes out clean, bread is done.
