Brodd Family Turkey

  1. Combine water, syrup, brown sugar and salt and stir to dissolve sugar. add turkey and brine overnight.
  2. Place turkey on a rack, in a roasting pan, breast-side up. Tuck ends of drumsticks under the flap of skin near the tail, (if the skin is not present tie the ends to the tail) also twist the wing tips under the back. Cover loosely with foil and roast at 325 F for 2 1/2 hours.
  3. Remove foil and roast an additional 30-45 minutes or until done. Brush frequently with glaze in last 15 min. of roasting. Let this bird sit at least 20 minutes before carving!
